  • 3. Do I need to make an appointment for UV tanning and spray booth or Airbrush Spray Tan?

At Haute Tan we have a walk in policy for UV tanning and spray booth..

Airbrushed tans are only done by appointment. This is to insure your session is tailored to your needs by one of our certified Haute Tan employees.

  • 4. What should I do to prepare prior to my visit?

Sun: You will achieve the best bronzing results after you’ve showered, exfoliated, and moisturized your skin. We recommend wearing dark clothing if you plan on using a lotion that’s infused with bronzers.

Spray or Sunless: We recommend that you shave, shower and exfoliate the day before your spray session. It’s advised to refrain from using any lotions, oils, or deodorants before your visit. Plan to wear dark, loose clothing after your session for optimal results.

Before a Sunless experience you should shower, shave, exfoliate NO make up, perfume, oil, body sprays, deodorant or moisturizer for optimal results. These products may create a barrier between your skin and the sunless solution. If you choose to spray in a bathing suit or in undergarments, please be mindful of what you will be wearing the week of your spray tan. Backless, straps or different bikinis? Just something to think about! Also, bring loose, dark fitting clothing for after your session. Your Sunless session will last less than sixty seconds plus dry time for the application to set and to dress and undress about 10-15 min.

  • 5. What is the best way to take care of your skin while tanning?

The most beneficial way to care for your skin is to take your time. For the best tan possible, build your base tan slowly by increasing your tan time gradually. Tanning for too long can lead to overexposure and reddening, which just slows down the process. Consult with your Haute Tan Tanning Professional for the recommended time each time you visit. All of our employees are Smart Tan certified and are able to gauge your skin type and recommend a length of tanning session that will be the best choice for you. Trust us, when you have achieved that desired bronze glowing tan, you will be thankful you took your time and did it the right way.

Another important way to care for your skin is to moisturize. The tanning process can take up to 24 hours, even after only several minutes in a tanning bed. During this process, color continues to develop, and skin may lose its natural moisture and nutrients. Therefore, the best way to care for your skin during tanning is to keep it nourished and moisturized with the proper tan extender. Consider investing in one of our specially formulated tan extending lotions. They are designed to keep skin soft and healthy and keep your tan looking its best. Ask any Haute Tan Tanning Professional to recommend the best tan extender for your skin type to not only extend the life of your tan, but keep it bronze, vibrant and beautiful!

  • 6. Do I need to wear eye protection?

Yes, it is required that you wear eye wear that protects against 99% of UVA rays and 99.9% of UVB rays. You cannot just close your eyes; your eyelids are too thin to block UV. Eye wear must be certified and approved by the FDA. At Haute Tan we offer temporary and multi-use goggles that meet Federal standards.

  • 7. Am I locked into a contract?

We don’t require long term commitments we just require two complete billing cycles and then you can cancel by the 25th of any month there after.

  • 8. Can I place my membership on hold?

Of course! Memberships can be placed on hold for up to 12 months at a time. It only costs $5/month to maintain your membership while it’s on hold. After you’re ready to reactivate your membership, come see a Haute Tan professional at the salon to get you back into your membership.
